One of the key advantages of HOOPS Communicator is the flexibility it gives developers when it comes to deployment. After installing the product, you are essentially getting a set of libraries and executables for efficient streaming and CAD conversion and it is up to you (with our help if needed) to integrate those optimally into your web-based application.

When we developed the backend for our own internal HOOPS Communicator cloud demos (including [https://demo.techsoft3d.com/](https://demo.techsoft3d.com/)) we had to embark on a similar task as a lot of our partners, to essentially build a scalable and region-aware backend for converting and viewing CAD models (in our case running on Amazon AWS). We decided to release this code in the form of a Node.js project. It is still work-in-progress but we feel it is already quite useful.
