# How to draw model outlines in HOOPS Communicator

There is no equivalent API to Perimeter Edges control in HOOPS Communicator at the moment.

You may instead change the visibility of HardEdges using the API [View.setHardEdgesEnabled()](https://docs.techsoft3d.com/communicator/latest/api_ref/viewing/classes/Communicator.View.html?#Communicator.Communicator.View.setHardEdgesEnabled)

_e.g. hide face, show hard edges_

You may instead use [setSilhouetteEnabled](https://docs.techsoft3d.com/communicator/latest/api_ref/viewing/classes/Communicator.View.html?#Communicator.Communicator.View.setSilhouetteEnabled)() API to draw the contours of the model.

_e.g. hide face, show silhouette_

Please note you also have access to the [Hidden Line rendering mode](https://docs.techsoft3d.com/communicator/latest/prog_guide/viewing/scene_attributes/draw-modes.html?#hidden-line).  
And you can decrease the [hidden line opacity](https://docs.techsoft3d.com/communicator/latest/api_ref/viewing/classes/Communicator.Settings.HiddenLineSettings.html) to 0 to have a contour mode.
