How to manage notifications

When someone replies to you, quotes your post or tags you by using @name, you will receive a notification. Notifications will be displayed in the upper right part of the screen as a number. If you click on the number, you will be able to view your notifications.
Don’t worry about missing replies if you’re not logged in. If you get a notification, you’ll also receive an email letting you know what you missed.

Topics less than two days old that are considered new and topics that you’ve engaged with will display small blue circle next to the topic.

There are multiple notification settings you can choose from for each topic. You can also set notification states per category if you want to watch every new topic in a specific category.

Watching: You’ll be notified of all new replies in a topic, and a count of all replies will be shown.

Tracking: A count of new replies will be shown for this topic. You will be notified if someone mentions your @name or replies to you.

Normal: You’ll only be notified if someone mentions your @name or replies to you

Muted: You will never be notified of anything about this topic, and it will not appear in latest.

Please note, posts that you engage with or create will be automatically tracked.

To change any of these settings, go to your user preferences. To get there follow these steps:

  1. Click on your profile picture in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
  2. Navigate to the person icon in the drop down, then click “Preferences”
  3. Click on the notifications tab on the left hand side.
