AutoCAD OEM 2026 Make Wizard crashes on build

AutoCAD OEM 2026 Make Wizard crashes

Hi all,

I have the problem, that the OEM Make Wizard constantly crashes. In the event log for applications I see the following error:

Fehlerhafter Anwendungsname: oemmakewizard.exe, Version: 25.1.60.0, Zeitstempel: 0x67a2d3ae

AutoCAD OEM 2026 is installed in a complete new Windows 11 Environment (incl. VS 2022). I also tried a new Installation under Windows 10 with the same result. Even an empty new project crashes OEM Make Wizard shortly after the build button is pressed.

Best regards,
Peter

Peter,
You may have already done it but when I run into issues like this I usually double check that I installed all the components and modules that the MakeWizard needs in visual studios. Paavo does a good job highlighting the ones that are needed in the training video found here: Autodesk AutoCAD OEM-Tech Soft 3D Developer Zone
Of course you would just make sure the ones your installing correspond to the year of Visual Studios you are running. Also, double check your “Microsoft Visual Studio Location” path in the MakeWizard to make sure it is pointed to the new year of VS and its tools.

Hi Shawn,
Thanks for the tip about the training videos. After adding various optional components for Visual Studio with no success, I tried to start Make Wizard as Administrator even though the current user is already a member of the Administrators group. After that, Make Wizard finished the build process successfully.

That is good news! Glad you go it figured out. Nothing more frustrating than staring at an error that is preventing you from moving on.
