Is there any function that can directly calculate the volume of an object?

If you are ok with the volume being calculated from the tessellated mesh and assuming the mesh is closed, its actually pretty straightforward to calculate with a bit of math. See here:

I want to open the pdf in the viewer, can you tell me how to do it in detail?

Hi,

you canā€™t directly open a PDF file in HOOPS Communicator. Instead HOOPS Communicator is able to extract and display the 3D content of a 3D PDF and display it in the viewer (simply run it through converter in the same way as any regular CAD file). If you need the ability to author and view PDF files with 3D content, you can also look at HOOPS Publish, which is our SDK more directly geared to the 3D PDF Format:

It means you canā€™t open the pdf directly.
If so, do I have to convert the file unconditionally to display the pdf in the viewer?

Excellent feature, and everyoneā€™s communication is also exciting!

Are image files with the image extension .tif or .tiff supported?

If you are talking about the model conversion functionality of HOOPS Communicator we really donā€™t deal with images there, its really all about 3D model.

Hi Guido!!!
Iā€™ve calculated the volume.
However,
for example, just use the cross-section feature to cut the object like this.
How can I calculate the volume of the remaining part?

Hello @nguyentrung092411865,

I donā€™t think you will be able to calculate the volume of the visible part when a cutting plane is active on it. The culling action does not affect the actual triangles of the geometry. The cutting plane is only changing its visibility so a re-calculation of the actual surface area geometry is not possible.

Thanks,
Tino
