Failing to convert exports from OpenCascade 7.6 to SCS

Hello,

I reported bugs for this, but was hoping to get more support here as it is a big issue for us, and we might have more info here on how to alter our input files to properly convert to SCS.

We use OpenCascade 7.6 to generate some shapes, and then export either to STEP or IGES to keep the B-Rep. Those exports can be loaded fine in all the softwares we use.

However, when we convert the STEP to SCS, there are missing faces around the filleted edges. When we convert the IGES to SCS, the model shows up completely empty/invisible. Both times, the converter reports no error, and shows the proper number of faces/edges/curves etc.

We used the converter shipped with Hoops Communicator.

I’ll share both input files here if you can give us guidance on have a proper SCS file.

Thank you,
Alexis

Hello, @alexis.besner .

As you know, we’re working on the issues submitted. You should expect any updates via the support portal.

Mike

Hello Mike!

Do you have an idea of what is the root cause of the issue? If something can be changed in my STEP input file to avoid conversion issues, I could try that.

Thanks!
Alexis

Hi, @alexis.besner

I see you asked this in the ticket as well. We’ll let you know there if we find the root cause that could be resolved by changing your STEP export.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks Mike,

I wasn’t sure if my ticket was lost in the ether or not :stuck_out_tongue:
I think I found the cause, I will send a message in the ticket.
