The future of IFC in the AEC Industry

Hello all,

I just wanted to share the new Beyond 3D Podcast where @Jonathan spoke with Sylvain Marie from Eurostep about IFC and its future.

There were a lot of cool things that were covered. Something I personally found pretty interesting was the discussion about how IFC adoption varies from country to country, and how integration into each counrty’s processes helps with that adoption.

I’d love to hear what you guys thought about the podcast and how you’d like to see IFC evolve in the future.

A big thank you goes out to Sylvain for this great discussion. I definitely learned a few things, including that IFC was originally based on STEP. Also, he had a very interesting point of view on how the metaverse doesn’t encourage open sharing of data toward the end of our discussion.

Yeah I thought that was interesting too. I never thought about how NFTs could hinder collaboration and how that might be at odds with the collaboration-type mindset that IFC is based around.
