The supplied license key does not support HOOPS Communicator

Hi,

I am currently evaluating HOOPs web platform, and has installed the platform and would like to try the converter application following the instructions in here Quickstart

But the converter reported this error, “The supplied license key does not support HOOPS Communicator”.
Can someone help me with this problem? Thanks!

Regards,
Wayne

Wayne,

Our installer doesn’t update the license key in \HOOPS_Communicator_2020\authoring\converter\example\sample.bat and the default license has expired.

Please replace the value of CONVERT_LICENSE_KEY in sample.bat (or your command line) with your personal license key from manage.techsoft3d.com for the HOOPS Web Platform (not the HOOPS Native Platform).

Please let us know if there is anything else that we can help you with.

Jonathan

Got it, thanks Jonathan!

Hi Jonathan,

I am facing a similar issue. It looks like the sample.bat had the correct license information. I also updated the same in the hoops_licsence.h and tried with the mini converter but it running the sample.bat gives me the following error:

HOOPS Converter v8.0 - SC v68 Build e0da558
INFO: XML Batch Conversion
ERROR 1: The Supplied License Key does not support HOOPS Communicator.
ERROR 1: Failed to initialize the converter
INFO: Exiting: Conversion failed

I am performing this on a Windows 10 OS and not a server OS. Could that be the issue here?

Best Regards,
Sumit.

Sumit,

Thank you for your question.

The file sample.bat can run on Windows 10 OS.

Sample.bat runs converter.exe in several different ways. It looks like your batch conversion has failed which is the last of several runs of converter.exe. If the previous runs of converter.exe run without any issues, you know you have a valid license. To get the batch conversion example to run you’ll also have to update the license string in sample_batch.xml.
